The Qatar Q-suite certainly lives up to the hype. The suite itself was much wider than other airlines business class seats that I've flown by atleast 20%. It might be due to the additional seat / box on the side of the seat. However the length of the seat was a few inches shorter than usual. I could not lie flat fully (I'm 6'4"). I found the side storage very handy. Overall i found there was more place to keep things vs other business classes I've been on. A negative was that the usual place to keep my shoes below the leg rest was blocked off, but I was able to awkwardly store them next to my feet.
The Q-Suite itself doesn't add a lot of privacy. Anyone walking around can see in. However I felt a bit more comfortable napping with my door closed. I also found it a good way to communicate to the staff to not disturb me when it was closed.
The service was top notch. They don't have the usual meal times, but rather allow you to order food al la carte when you like. That said, the staff are constantly on the prowl making sure that you have everything you need.
I usually don't find cocktails in business, but I was able to get a (many) pretty good old fashioned.
The food was decent, what you'd expect from flight food. However there were plenty of options to choose from.
